About Our Instructor

Branden Weber, M.S.is a PADI (#521990) and SDI (#36693) Open Water SCUBA Instructor. Weber is a 2-time alumni of the University of Tampa, Branden is the founder of Dive Buddies. Outside of diving, Branden helps young entrepreneurs like himself start and grow their companies.

What We Offer

At Dive Buddies, we offer both PADI and SDI courses personalized to your schedule. From private and semi-private SCUBA instruction to travel and events.

Not much, honestly. Both PADI and SDI offer world-class scuba training, follow similar teaching styles, and issue certifications that are accepted worldwide. You’ll get the same great experience either way.

The main difference? PADI courses can earn you college credit—up to 12 credits with Dive Buddies and up to 29 credits at PADI 5-Star Centers, thanks to recognition from the American Council on Education (ACE).

Your scuba journey starts here! The Open Water Diver course teaches the basics—gear setup, dive safety, buoyancy control, and how to explore the underwater world with confidence.

Build your skills and explore deeper! The AOW course includes five adventure dives like deep diving, navigation, and night diving—no tests, just experience.

PADI courses are evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE), which recommends them for college credit—up to 26 credit hours, including Open Water, Advanced, specialties, Rescue, and more

After certification, our instructors will order you an official PADI transcript (they’re free through Credly or by mail) and submit it to your college or university. If they recognize ACE recommendations, the credits transfer just like other college‑level coursework. It’s a smart way to dive and learn—and maybe save on tuition
